Functional Backbend- Basic Fundamentals to Backbend
Come practice a Functional Backbend yoga approach; where Master James will be imparting his Functional Anatomy knowledge on skeletal variations and tensile aspects which affects Backbend practices. He will be sharing aspects on postural alignment in backbends exercices & the importance of the integration of axial joints mobility(shoulder girdle & pelvic girdle) along with the spinal movement in backbends. He will also be highlighting the importance of releasing tensed diaphragm & psoas and establishing their elasticity for backbend practices & how it affects our breathing in backbends. There will also be a sharing on the core element aspects of bandha to ensure a safe Backbend practice.
This 75 minutes practice is suitable for both beginners and current practitioners as Master James will be narrowing down all the basic fundamentals to progress oneself in Backbend practice.
This will be a Hatha Vinyasa class where the class will be sequenced to prep your body to a final Backbend pose.
Kindly prepare 2 yoga blocks, 1 yoga belt and 1 Big Bath towel. (Note: kindly come empty stomach or at least 5 hours of digestion as one section of the class will involve a diaphragm & psoas massage)

About James' Wong
