The prescription for yoga postures are to be in state of yin and yang or sthira and sukha. In this masterclass, we will explore how can we approach a vinyasa practice with these seemingly separate or contradictory elements and make them whole.

We will learn to harness the power of the versatile ujjayi breath and connect them with yoga movements in a creative sequence that encompasses a myriad of categories. Expect to breakdown some common misconception to vinyasa movements and enhance your body’s ability to move effectively from the simple to challenging postures alike.

KEVIN CHAI (E-RYT 500) : Co-founder of Samana Yoga & Wellness 

Our lead trainer has been in the yoga scene for over 15  years. He is the co-founder of Samana Yoga KL and the principal Yoga Trainer for many faculties around Asia. He is no stranger to conducting Yoga Teacher Trainings, Workshops Retreats and Master Classes. Known for his precision and clarity in class, his style of teaching advocates the harmony of flowing movement (vinyasa) coupled with evenness of breath to expand one’s awareness whilst sharpening their concentration to bring stillness within.

Some of his notable achievements include developing and structuring further the training and educational content such as the new teacher training manual, assessment guidelines, asana syllabus and library, new improved programs while providing continuous education to up skill existing teachers. He has also helped establish and train a new team of yoga teacher trainers for UNDER THE LIGHT Malaysia which hails from Tokyo, Japan who is the largest Yoga Alliance teacher training school in Asia with over 10,000 certified yoga graduates.

Known as a teacher’s teacher, he has thus far graduated over more than 500 new aspiring yoga teachers. His most noteworthy teachers are the late Vincent Tam who was Jiva Yoga’s Founder and Fitness First Flow Yoga Creator, Edward Clark of Tripsichore Vinyasa Yoga, Swamiji Abhishek Chaitanya Giri Maharaj Maha-Mandaleshwar and Parveen Nair. He is strongly immersed in Tripsichore Vinyasa Yoga under the tutelage of Edward Clark for over 15 years which emphasizes synching the breath and movement to create stillness in motion (moving meditation).

As a key member of Tripsichore Theater, he often devise his own yoga choreography. To date, Kevin has produced Tripsichore and performed with them in Kuching (Sarawak), Kuala Lumpur, Sibu, Hong Kong and Taiwan since 2011.


Yeong Lee : Co-founder of Samana Yoga & Wellness 

A registered dietitian, yoga teacher, entrepreneur, and lifestyle coach, Yeong Lee has been shaping the wellness community since 2010. She has attained one of the most recognized titles as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and certified Lifestyle Modification Coach in Australia where she started her career in the wellness industry. With her interest in holistic wellness, she continued to study yoga, ayurveda, pranayama, and mindfulness meditation.


She believes the key to a sustainable lifestyle change begins with a powerful mindset shift. She is passionate in sharing yoga as a tool to bring clarity to one’s mind and create the life they want.  With more than a decade of experience in advocating well-being and teaching, she is no stranger to conducting yoga courses, workshops, teacher trainings and leading educational health talks.  She was also invited to share her expertise on media shows, yoga festivals, fitness, and wellness events. 


As a yoga teacher, she is known for her clarity and attentiveness. Students tend to describe her class as inclusive, purposeful, and progressive.  She thrives at teaching students from all levels while skilfully incorporating breathwork into yoga movement, using it as a tool to bring clarity to one’s mind and create the life they want. Her strong desire to support others growth and development, has seen her mentoring many promising new teachers and seasoned practitioners alike. 


Yeong Lee has been a dedicated practitioner of Tripsichore Vinyasa, having accumulated over 700 workshop hours with the creator Edward Clark. She was celebrated for her work as a facilitator and translator for her teacher Edward Clark in 2018 at the Asia Yoga Conference in Hong Kong. Since then, she has been teaching internationally and can be found performing yoga choreography on the theatre stage alongside fellow Tripsichore Theatre performers across Asia countries.
